Zach Rector Says It’s Happening On XRP, Frustrated Holders React

Day two of Ripple’s Swell Conference wrapped in Hudson Yards, New York City. XRP analyst Zach Rector was on the ground, and he came away with a clear message for his followers: real adoption is no longer theoretical.

Rector described the event as a gathering of banks, institutions, and builders actively moving into production on the XRP Ledger. His assessment was straightforward. “It is happening right now on the XRP Ledger,” he said. “It’s no longer theoretical.”

That distinction matters to Rector. For years, XRP proponents pointed to future milestones. Rector’s position is that those milestones are now arriving.

What Garlinghouse and Farley Said

One session stood out to Rector. Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse appeared alongside Tom Farley, CEO of crypto exchange Bullish. Farley addressed the tokenization of global equity markets, estimated at hundreds of trillions of dollars.

His words were measured but significant. “We don’t know the timing, but we know it’s coming,” Farley said, according to Rector. Farley also acknowledged delays. “We can all admit that we’re behind schedule, but we know it’s coming.”

Rector treated that admission as a sign of credibility rather than concern. Institutional leaders rarely confirm public timelines. That Farley addressed the delay directly appeared to land well with Rector.

RLUSD, XRP, and Liquidity

Rector also pushed back on a narrative circulating in the community. Some holders have questioned whether RLUSD activity benefits XRP directly. Rector rejected that concern. “Every asset that gets brought to this ledger gets paired up with XRP,” he said. Deep liquidity for any asset on the ledger requires deep XRP liquidity, in his view.

His conclusion: RLUSD announcements are not separate from XRP value. They feed into it.

Holders Push Back

Not everyone watching the conference shared Rector’s optimism. XRP traded around $1.24 during Swell, and community members noticed the price dropped roughly 3% across a week of bullish announcements.

Commenter Mikazuki put the frustration plainly: “Hype gets one announcement 20% move up. XRP has an entire week of bullish announcements. Price drops 3%. I’m an XRP holder but need help making it make sense.”

Jack Hannan went further. “Meanwhile XRP is dropping. I don’t think they should do anymore Ripple Swell events.”

Angus Rock called it “the MOST damaging Swell ever for Ripple,” citing community sentiment in the comments section.

Others were more dismissive of Rector’s message entirely.

Where Things Stand

Rector ended his update with a promise to publish full coverage from Swell. He called the event a confirmation that capital is moving onto the XRP Ledger. The community response shows that confidence in conference outcomes is not universal. Price action during the event gave frustrated holders a visible counterpoint to the bullish narrative on stage.
