XRP Ledger Rolls Out Critical Upgrade to Boost Network Security and DeFi Capabilities
The XRP Ledger (XRPL) network activated the technical amendment fixCleanup3_4_0 after reaching over 94% consensus among its trusted validators. The update fixes a potential vulnerability in delegated token issuance permissions and directly optimizes the operation of automated market makers (AMM) and on-chain lending protocols.

The upgrade mitigates the risk of unauthorized asset creation during burning operations and resolves rounding discrepancies in single-asset vaults. In doing so, XRPL strengthens the technical confidence required by institutional stablecoin issuers and decentralized finance (DeFi) participants, reinforcing operational security without altering XRP’s supply or foundational rules.
The next phase will involve the gradual rollout of new technical proposals designed to lay the groundwork for a native lending ecosystem and the expansion of on-chain liquidity across XRPL.
