XRP Could Overtake Ethereum as Expert Reveals Ripple’s $35 Billion Payment Plan

In Brief:

  • Crypto expert Lilic predicts Ripple could capture $35 billion in weekly payments through RLUSD-powered cards and digital banking services.
  • XRP requires approximately 255% growth to match Ethereum’s market capitalization, while expanding payment adoption could strengthen its competitive market position.
  • XRP trades near $1.24692, with RSI at 36.78 signaling weak momentum, while RLUSD expansion could increase XRP Ledger activity.

XRP could challenge Ethereum’s position as the second-largest cryptocurrency if Ripple secures a significant share of global payment transactions. Crypto expert Lilic projects that Ripple could process $35 billion weekly through RLUSD-powered cards and digital banking services.

According to Lilic’s interview with XRP influencer Eri, partnerships with major payment networks could support this ambitious expansion. The expert also predicts that the strategy could generate at least $10 billion in additional RLUSD supply within three years.

Expert Reveals How Ripple Could Capture $35 Billion in Weekly Payments

Lilic outlined a potential business model involving partnerships with established financial networks such as Visa and Mastercard. Under this arrangement, customers could access credit cards linked to RLUSD alongside banking and money management services.

The expert estimated that Visa processes approximately $350 billion in transactions every week across its global network. Securing just 10% of that business would bring Ripple’s projected transaction volume to $35 billion weekly. On an annual basis, that figure would reach approximately $1.82 trillion, representing $5.46 trillion over three years.

Additionally, Lilic expects these financial products to encourage wider stablecoin adoption among consumers and businesses seeking alternative payment solutions. The proposed arrangement remains a projection rather than a confirmed partnership or commercial agreement.

XRP Needs 255% Growth to Challenge Ethereum’s Market Position

Lilic believes increased financial activity on the XRP Ledger could strengthen XRP’s valuation and support its competition with Ethereum. Ethereum currently commands a market capitalization of approximately $278.85 billion, while XRP holds a valuation of $79.13 billion. This leaves a substantial $199.72 billion difference between the two cryptocurrencies.

With XRP trading around $1.24, its price would need to reach approximately $4.40 to match Ethereum’s current capitalization. Such an increase represents roughly 255%, assuming circulating supply remains unchanged, and Ethereum maintains its existing valuation.

Meanwhile, Ethereum trades near $2,282, meaning further gains in ETH could increase the valuation threshold XRP must overcome. Lilic’s outlook is particularly notable given the expert’s earlier support for Ethereum and its development.

XRP Price Faces Resistance as RSI Signals Weak Momentum

XRP trades around $1.24692 on the daily chart, recording a 0.17% decline as selling pressure persists. According to TradingView data, the cryptocurrency remains below its 20-day Bollinger Band moving average of $1.29811.

The upper Bollinger Band stands at $1.36661, while the lower boundary at $1.22961 indicates XRP remains near its recent trading range’s bottom. Meanwhile, the Relative Strength Index stands at 36.78, below its signal average of 40.23, indicating weak buying momentum near oversold territory.

A recovery above $1.29811 could improve the short-term technical outlook, while $1.22961 represents an immediate support level. Losing that support could expose XRP to additional selling pressure despite the longer-term adoption projections.

RLUSD Adoption Could Expand XRP Ledger Settlement Activity

Beyond the projected market share, Lilic identified blockchain settlement as an important component of Ripple’s proposed financial services strategy. Transactions processed through the XRP Ledger could increase network usage while creating additional opportunities for liquidity providers and financial institutions. Furthermore, integrating stablecoin payments with conventional banking products could broaden the network’s commercial applications.

Nevertheless, higher transaction volumes would not automatically produce proportional increases in XRP’s market capitalization. The token’s performance would depend on its actual involvement in settlements, liquidity provision, and payment processing. Likewise, the anticipated creation of $10 billion in RLUSD would not represent an equivalent capital inflow into XRP.

Ripple’s ability to secure payment partnerships and attract customers would therefore determine whether Lilic’s projections materialize. The expert maintains that broader financial adoption could eventually help XRP narrow Ethereum’s substantial valuation advantage.
