Ripple President Reveals Why Tokenization Could Transform Global Finance

In Brief:

  • Ripple President Monica Long highlighted tokenization’s growing role in global finance during discussions with Robinhood executive Johann Kerbrat at Swell.
  • Robinhood plans to integrate Ripple Treasury for financial operations while adopting RLUSD on the XRP Ledger for institutional settlement services.
  • Ripple expects its annualized product revenue run rate to approach $900 million, supported by partnerships with major global financial institutions.

Ripple President Monica Long has highlighted tokenization as a major development in global finance during the company’s Swell conference. According to an October 28 update from Swell, Long joined Robinhood executive Johann Kerbrat to discuss blockchain infrastructure and financial access.

Kerbrat, Robinhood’s Senior Vice President and General Manager of Crypto, described tokenization alongside Long as an “unstoppable freight train” transforming traditional finance. The executives also examined Robinhood’s plans for blockchain markets operating around the clock, highlighting broader access to digital financial services.

Tokenization enables institutions to represent assets on blockchain networks while managing transfers, trading, and settlement through digital infrastructure. Long’s remarks highlighted the growing adoption of blockchain financial services, particularly as institutions explore new approaches to asset management.

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse has also emphasized the migration toward modern financial networks supporting real-time settlement and round-the-clock transactions. Garlinghouse further highlighted how tokenized assets can support trading, financing, and collateral arrangements across institutional financial markets.

Ripple and Robinhood Expand Blockchain Integration Through RLUSD and Treasury Services

The discussion followed Ripple’s announcement of a partnership with Robinhood covering treasury operations and institutional stablecoin settlement. Robinhood plans to integrate Ripple Treasury into its global operations, including cash management, liquidity oversight, and payment processing.

The system will support cash flow forecasting, risk management, and intercompany netting, while Robinhood will use RLUSD on the XRP Ledger for institutional settlement. The arrangement extends RLUSD’s role across Bitstamp by Robinhood and its institutional business.

RLUSD is already listed on Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp by Robinhood, with availability through Robinhood’s main application expected before 2026 ends.

Ripple Reports $900 Million Revenue Run Rate as Institutional Adoption Expands

Ripple also reported growing demand for its blockchain products among major financial institutions. Long disclosed that the Ripple’s annualized product revenue run rate is approaching $900 million exiting 2026, where Ripple identified Standard Chartered, DBS, HSBC, Robinhood, and BNY among customers and partners using its infrastructure.

Those relationships span asset movement, custody, tokenization, and deployment through solutions built with the XRP Ledger.p Swell brought together executives from traditional finance, cryptocurrency companies, academia, and the XRP ecosystem to examine these developments. The conference provided a forum to discuss how blockchain infrastructure could serve financial institutions.

Ripple’s Robinhood partnership demonstrates the practical direction of those discussions through treasury automation and stablecoin settlement. Both companies are extending blockchain services into institutional operations while pursuing broader access to digital financial products.
