Investor Cathie Wood Buys Robinhood Stock

Closely followed investor Cathie Wood made a sizable purchase of Robinhood Markets’ (NASDAQ: $HOOD) stock during its post-earnings selloff on Oct. 28.

Wood’s firm, ARK Invest, bought $9.1 million U.S. of HOOD stock as it fell nearly 10% following disappointing quarterly financial results.

It was the biggest purchase of Robinhood’s stock by Wood’s company since it bought $39 million U.S. worth of shares on April 29 of this year.

The firm added 99,418 Robinhood shares across three of its exchange-traded fund (ETF) products. It was ARK Invest’s first purchase of HOOD stock since Sept. 8.

The latest purchase of Robinhood’s stock comes with the share price down nearly 25% over the past month.

The online exchange’s stock has struggled this year as crypto trading volumes have slowed considerably from a year ago.

Robinhood’s third-quarter financial results showed that crypto transaction revenue fell 55% from a year earlier to $120 million U.S. Crypto trading volumes dropped 38% to $50 billion U.S.

Growth elsewhere helped the brokerage post record total revenue of $1.42 billion U.S., up 12% from the same period of 2025.

However, the revenue figure missed Wall Street estimates and earnings per share of $0.51 U.S. fell short of the $0.55 U.S. consensus estimate among analysts, sending the stock lower.

HOOD stock has declined 37% over the past 12 months to trade at $91.43 U.S. per share.
