Early Bitcoin Investor: My XRP Prediction Is Playing Out Exactly As Planned

XRP has been declining steadily since August. The structure has been clear on the charts. Now, Crypto Michael (@MichaelXBT), a well-known analyst and early Bitcoin investor, is capitalizing on it with precision.

He has been tracking the asset’s price action across two distinct descending channels since August, and his analysis has proven correct. On October 29, with XRP trading at $1.29, he shared his position publicly. “Hedged my XRP long position from $1 with a short position here at $1.30,” he wrote, adding a stop loss at $1.35.

Two days later, the trade closed at $1.22, after the Binance hack caused a notable market-wide decline.

My $XRP prediction is playing out exactly as planned.

We shorted at $1.30 and closed at $1.22.

Now preparing for the next major move.

A Structure Two Months in the Making

XRP’s surge in August took it to $1.68 before it entered its first descending channel. The asset’s price compressed within that channel through late August and most of September. Toward the end of that month, XRP experienced another breakout, pushing above the channel to a high of $1.65. However, it could not sustain its momentum.

From that September high, XRP entered a second descending channel. This is the structure dominating the current charts. The price has made consistent lower highs and lower lows within it since September, declining from $1.65 to current levels near $1.25.

The Short That Worked

Michael’s October 29 chart showed XRP sitting at the upper boundary of the second channel near $1.30. He identified it as a shorting opportunity. His chart presented two scenarios at the time. One projected a drop toward $1.20. The other showed a potential breakout toward $1.47. He positioned for the downside.

XRP dropped to $1.22. Michael closed the short there, capturing roughly 6% on the move. His original long position from $1 remains open.

Where XRP Stands Now

As of October 31, XRP traded at $1.2537. It was near the lower boundary of the second descending channel. The October 31 chart shows the same two-path scenario remains relevant. A continuation lower would put $1.19 to $1.20 back in focus.

A breakout above the channel’s upper trendline opens the path toward $1.45 to $1.47. The analyst recently highlighted $1.34 as a crucial level XRP must surpass, and this move would break that resistance.

Michael’s long from $1 gives him a comfortable cushion regardless of short-term direction. The hedging strategy he applied demonstrates how traders manage risk within a trend without abandoning a core position.
