Hyperliquid Strategies Ramps Up Buyback Plan to $100M After Stock Sell-Off

HYPE treasury firm Hyperliquid Strategies Inc (NASDAQ: $PURR), has increased its stock repurchase program to $100 million from $30 million and pushed the program’s end date to October 31, 2027.
The Nasdaq-listed company announced the change last Friday after the market close. Approximately $72 million remains available under the larger authorization, which implies about $28 million has been used so far. The program previously ran through Dec. 5, 2026.
Hyperliquid Strategies said the increase reflects its board’s confidence in the company’s long-term capital strategy and gives it room to buy back shares as part of its treasury management. It can repurchase shares on the open market, in privately negotiated deals or by other methods allowed under federal securities laws. Management decides the timing and size of purchases based on the stock price, market conditions and legal requirements. The company said there is no guarantee how many shares it will buy and that it can extend, suspend or end the program at any time.
The expansion follows a sharp drop in the stock. PURR traded near $8.80 on Friday, about 33% below its Oct. 5 high of $13.05. HYPE, the native token of the Hyperliquid (CRYPTO: $HYPE) blockchain, traded around $77, while bitcoin (CRYPTO: $BTC) held mostly between $80,000 and $87,000 in October.
The company acknowledged that its share price is closely tied to HYPE, listing the token’s price volatility among its main risks. Hyperliquid Strategies describes itself as the largest treasury vehicle focused on HYPE, offering U.S. and institutional investors a way to hold the token while earning returns through staking, yield strategies and ecosystem participation.
Shares of Hyperliquid Strategies (NASDAQ: PURR) are currently trading at $9.07, down from a 52 week high of $14.76.
