According to a breaking news statement reported by KCNA, the North Korean government has denied accusations that it was responsible for the theft of billions of dollars worth of cryptocurrency from Binance.
The Pyongyang regime also touched upon its cybersecurity policies, stating, “It is our policy to oppose all malicious activity in cyberspace.”

FBI Blames North Korea for Binance Attack
In an official statement released on October 31, the FBI announced that North Korea was responsible for the theft of more than $6 billion in cryptocurrency from Binance on October 29.
US officials reported that the attack was carried out by a hacker group called TraderTraitor, which has links to North Korea.
The FBI also stated that the attackers primarily converted the stolen assets into Ethereum (ETH) and may attempt to launder the money through decentralized finance (DeFi) platforms.
The organization had called on cryptocurrency exchanges, blockchain infrastructure providers, and DeFi platforms to block transactions made from wallet addresses linked to the attackers.
Blockchain analytics companies TRM Labs and Chainalysis also pointed to North Korean-linked hacker groups in their investigations following the attack.
