Bitcoin Sees 14,942 Coins Exit Exchanges as Fed and Inflation Loom — Could BTC’s Falling Wallet Count Be a Bullish Twist?

Bitcoin continues to show signs of changing investor behavior, with leading on-chain analytics platform Santiment Intelligence noting that the apex cryptocurrency recorded net exchange outflows of 14,942 BTC, marking its largest single-day outflow in five weeks.

More notably, this movement occurred just ahead of Wednesday’s Federal Reserve (Fed) interest rate decision and Thursday’s US GDP and Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) inflation reports.

The Fed ultimately kept interest rates unchanged at 3.75%–4% on Wednesday, following a 10–2 vote. Nevertheless, two policymakers favored a 0.25 percentage-point increase, highlighting concerns about persistent inflation.

Why are Bitcoin exchange outflows symbolic? They suggest investors aren’t rushing to position for immediate selling because moving coins off exchanges reduces the BTC readily available for trading, which is bullish since it can ease short-term selling pressure.

Bitcoin Price Faces a Critical $80K Test

According to CoinGecko data, Bitcoin is trading at $78,047, putting the $80,000 level firmly in focus because a sustained recovery above this psychological threshold could strengthen the top cryptocurrency’s bullish outlook, opening the door toward $82,500 and potentially $84,000.

Adding to the intrigue, Santiment has noted that Bitcoin has lost approximately 30,000 non-empty wallets since October 16, bringing the total down to around 59.95 million.

Well, this decline could reflect smaller investors abandoning positions after weeks of disappointing price action rather than a fundamental decline in network activity.

Historically, retail capitulation can create more favorable conditions for recovery by reducing speculative selling, creating a bullish picture.

Meanwhile, another dimension of the market outlook is that CryptoQuant data shows publicly listed companies collectively hold approximately 1.3 million BTC, representing a 31% increase over 14 months, as reported by ZyCrypto.
